Massage Therapy

Warren Jones, CMT

A Graduate of the 130 hour Therapeutic Massage program at the Integrative Therapy School. He is also a Graduate of the 500 hour Therapeutic Massage program at the Massage Therapy Institute and a Certified Personal Trainer (Functional Training Specialist) since 1994.

Warren - "I believe the most important part of my job is to be a good listener. Then with a deeper understanding of your goals I can use my training, my 15 years of experience, and my intuition to create a massage therapy session that is tailored to your needs. I strive to create massage therapy sessions that are equal parts relaxing and therapeutic however I am happy to emphasize one more than the other if needed. Through the years I have been lucky to work on many types of bodies including pregnant moms, younger athletes, professional athletes, dancers, UC employees, students and many, many, more.

Warren is specifically trained in Swedish massage, Pregnancy Massage, Deep Tissue massage, Myofascial Release, Acupressure, Reflexology, Thai massage & Sports massage however my tendency is to use an integrative, intuitive mix of bodywork styles. I treat each client as an individual. No two sessions are the same."

Warren is a long time Davis resident who enjoys travel, photography, playing music, running, and biking.

Ann Kelleher, Ph.D., Massage Therapist

In July, 2009, I completed a 100-hour Certified Massage Therapist course of training at the Massage Therapy Institute (MTI) in Davis, CA. The course combines foundational training in flowing, Swedish relaxation massage with additional techniques that can be used for deeper, more focused work. I have continued my training at MTI with a focus on styles of massage that apply to pain relief and sports training. Since the summer of 2009, I have enjoyed building a vibrant private practice and am now happy to be a part of the team at Gerner Chiropractic.

I use a combination of Swedish massage and focused work in each session, based on the style preferred by the client. I also check in with the client throughout the session to adjust the amount of pressure and time spent on particular areas of the body. My goal is to meet the needs of the client during each session and, over time, to find ways that massage therapy can help improve the client’s quality of life through such means as improved sports performance, pain reduction or stress relief.
I have been a member of the Davis community since 1997, when I moved here with my husband as he started graduate school. I began graduate studies at UC Davis in 2003 and completed a Ph.D. in linguistics in June, 2010. I am a long-time learner and second language user of Mandarin Chinese and studied the sociopolitics of Mandarin education in the U.S. We are both avid cyclists and members of the Davis Bike Club race team.

Massage and bodywork have been very helpful to me over the years as I've needed to manage pain and injury from rock climbing, cycling, and prolonged computer use. I also found massage to be a great help in managing stress associated with graduate school. I genuinely love the work I am doing as a massage therapist and hope I can offer others some of the healing benefits I have received through massage and bodywork!
